Looking back, I said to expect a post on the likely hood of a second civil war. To be fair, I explored my thoughts and ideas and found them not worth posting. This is not because I was hit my a massive wave of humility - big enough for some to actually stick but rather because I feel time these days is better spent dealing with whatever reality any of us face right now. I don't know about you but I go to work five days a week and come home generally to eat, sleep and repeat. I don't time for a lot of stuff. So lets deal with some reality.
John 8:32 “And
ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
We all know something is in the
works. Anyone with their eyes open can see the darkness creeping upon
us. Just today I had a moment of total clarity.
Everything going on – everything in
the world, everything in our nation, everything in our towns – all
we see on the internet, on television and in newspapers – wherever
– Every. Single. Thing. is about one and only one thing – the
battle between good and evil. I know this sounds simplistic but think
about it for just a moment.
Consider what will happen if “they”
win. What will the world be like.
What if “we” win?
Matthew 16:26 For
what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose
his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
The TRUTH is only your salvation
matters in the end. Everything else is just window dressing.
Think about this. Think again. Forgive
me if you've already come to a knowledge of the truth. If you have
you are ready for the next step.
If you have not yet accepted the truth
then stop. There is no need to go further. It will do you no good.
What is truth?
These are the last words Pilate spoke
to Jesus
John 18:36 Jesus
answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this
world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered
to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate
therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou
sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause
came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.
Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith
unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again
unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
There is no record suggesting Jesus
answered him. In the first verse at the beginning of this essay,
there is no record saying Jesus explained truth to those he spoke to
however more of this passage may bring clarity to some of you.
John 8:31 Then
said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The truth, as I understand it is what I
am about to lay out to you plainly. Take it for what you will. I do
not claim to be anything more than a Son of God who was born again of
God's spirit when I confessed Jesus as Lord and believed God raised
him from the dead (Romans 10:9,10). This is available to all so I am
not holding myself out as anyone who is “special” or who has been
“singled out”. What I know is a culmination of years of prayer
and study – not all of that was necessarily profitable.
This truth is the battle before us is
not physical. It is not political. It is spiritual. It is for the
hearts and souls of men. This battle will ripple through eternity.
Victory is assured. The One True God, who is good, has already won
it.
Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his
might.
11 Put on the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles
of the devil.
12 For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take
unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in
the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet
shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all,
taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the
helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word
of God:
18 Praying always
with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me,
that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly,
to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am
an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought
to speak.
I will mirror Paul's request at the end
of this passage. While I do not claim to be “an ambassador” nor
am I in bonds, I need as much help as anyone to be bold and continue
speaking boldly.
True liberty is given to us by God and
not by man. Once we realize we belong to the One True God and His
King, our Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah we shall be free indeed!
Romans 10:9 That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation.
